Name & Crew Generators

Names, plates, crews and callsigns — generated instantly for whenever your creativity taps out.

Before you generate

The naming rules every GTA generator has to respect

Character limits, filters and setting conventions — the constraints that decide whether a name actually works in-game.

  • Character names

    First + surname, regionally grounded

Rockstar's protagonist names read as plausible before they read as cool — Jason, Lucia, Michael, Trevor, Arthur. Leonida's demographic mix means Cuban, Haitian and Southern Anglo surnames all fit the setting without feeling invented.

  • Crew names & tags

    Under 30 characters, 4-character tag

Rockstar Social Club crews historically cap the display name at 30 characters and the tag at 4. Tags are unique, so the good four-letter combinations disappear in the first week — which is exactly why a generator beats brainstorming.

  • License plates

    8 characters, alphanumeric only

GTA V allowed 8 characters with no spaces or symbols and screened submissions for profanity. Plan for the same filter and avoid leetspeak substitutions, which the screen catches more often than people expect.

  • Radio callsigns

    Station-style, 3–4 letters

Vice City radio has always parodied real Florida broadcast conventions: a W- or K- prefix, a short punchy body, and a genre tagline. Useful for roleplay servers and for naming your own playlists.

  • Gamertags

    Platform-safe, 12–16 characters

Xbox caps gamertags at 12 characters, PSN at 16, and Steam is looser but display-truncates in-game. The generator only returns names that survive all three.

Each one ships with the filters above baked in, so output is usable on the first roll.

Naming questions before launch

Character limits, filters and what actually clears Rockstar's screen.

  • What are good GTA 6 crew names?

The ones that survive are short, pronounceable and tied to the setting — Leonida geography, Vice City landmarks, or Florida slang beat generic crime-movie references. Keep the display name under 30 characters and secure a 4-character tag early, because unique tags are claimed fast after launch.

  • How many characters can a GTA license plate have?

In GTA V it was 8 characters, letters and numbers only, with no spaces or special symbols, and every plate ran through a profanity filter. GTA 6 is expected to keep the same constraint, so the generator produces 8-character plates by default.

  • Are generated names safe to use in GTA 6 Online?

The generator avoids profanity, slurs, real-person names and trademarked terms, so output should clear Rockstar's automated screen. It cannot guarantee moderation outcomes — anything reported by other players is reviewed by Rockstar on their own terms.

  • Can I generate names that match the Vice City setting?

Yes — that is the point of tuning the word lists to Leonida rather than to generic fantasy tables. Filters let you weight output toward Cuban-American, Haitian-American, Southern Anglo or retro 80s Vice naming patterns.

  • Do generated names stay unique?

Character names and plates can repeat freely; crew tags cannot. For tags, the generator biases toward less-common letter combinations, but Rockstar's registry is the only real check for availability.
