Who builds ToolWools

ToolWools is an independent editorial site for GTA 6 tools, calculators, trackers, and planners. Every number on the site is modelled, benchmarked, and reviewed by named people — and every change is dated in the tool's changelog.

Editorial disclosure

ToolWools is reader-supported but independently operated. Our calculators, tier scores, and verdicts are not sponsored by Rockstar Games, NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, or any hardware vendor. We accept no payment, free hardware, or affiliate placement in exchange for scores. Every part is measured against the same public methodology and re-benchmarked when new drivers or engine builds ship.

What this site is, and what it isn't

Worth stating plainly, because the GTA 6 information space is full of pages that blur the line between an estimate and an announcement.

What ToolWools is

  • A free set of GTA 6 calculators, checkers and planners that run entirely in your browser.
  • An estimate-first site: every number carries a stated error band and a dated source list.
  • Independently operated and reader-supported, with no sponsored scores and no paid tier placement.
  • Maintained continuously — models are re-anchored on every driver cycle and at launch, not written once.

What it isn't

  • Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
  • Not a source of official system requirements — Rockstar has not published PC specs yet.
  • Not a leaks site. Unverified material may be discussed and labelled, but it never moves a calculation.
  • Not an account-gated product. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay for.

Everything we've shipped so far

Eleven live tools, grouped by the question they answer rather than by category label.

Can it run it?

The pass/fail questions people ask first, before they care about numbers.

  • System Requirements Checker

Checks a full part list against our estimated minimum, recommended and ultra tiers and returns a plain verdict.

  • Readiness Score

Scores the whole build 0-100 with a letter grade, and names the subsystem holding you back.

  • VRAM Requirements Checker

Works out the video memory a resolution and texture preset will actually allocate, including ray tracing and upscalers.

How fast will it run?

Once a build clears the bar, the next question is frame rate and balance.

  • FPS Calculator

Estimates average and 1% low frame rates per GPU, CPU, resolution and preset, always as a band.

  • Bottleneck Calculator

Compares CPU against GPU at your resolution and frame-rate target and shows which one is the limiter.

  • Settings Optimizer

Ranks graphics settings by frame cost against visual gain so you cut the expensive ones first.

What should I buy?

Upgrade decisions, where a bad choice costs real money.

  • GPU Tier List

Every current graphics card ranked S through F, with the bands re-sorting per resolution.

  • Hardware Comparison

Head-to-head part comparison with the spec deltas that matter for an open-world workload.

  • Storage Planner

Plans install footprint plus working-set and patch headroom across PC and console.

When and where?

Launch logistics, timing and the world itself.

  • Release Date Reminder

Converts launch to your local timezone and generates a calendar file for it.

  • Download Time Calculator

Turns your real sustained connection speed into a preload and launch-day download estimate.

  • Interactive Map

Leonida regions, Vice City districts, size comparison against past GTA maps, and evidence filtering.

  • Economy Calculator

Ranks money methods by net payout per hour, plus business ROI and card-value modes.

How this site makes money

A short section, because the answer is short — and because you should not have to guess whether a recommendation was bought.

  • Reader-supported, ad-light

The site is funded by display placement and, in future, optional reader support. Whatever runs alongside the content has no input into it: nobody buying space sees a score before it publishes.

  • No paid placement, ever

We accept no payment, no loaned or gifted hardware, and no affiliate arrangement in exchange for a tier, a verdict, or a recommendation. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page before it changes anywhere else.

  • Recommendations are not monetised differently

A card placed in S tier and a card placed in D tier earn this site exactly the same amount, which is nothing. The tier formula is published on the methodology page so you can check the placement yourself.

Your data, and what we don't do with it

  • Every calculator runs client-side in your browser. Your part list, resolution and settings are never sent to a server.
  • There are no accounts, no logins, and no email requirement to use any tool on the site.
  • Shareable result links encode your inputs in the URL itself, which is why they work without us storing anything.
  • Saved results, where a tool offers them, live in your own browser storage and are cleared when you clear site data.
  • We use aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics to see which tools get used. No profile is built and nothing is sold.

Authors & reviewers

Every tool page links its byline to the person below. Tap a name on any calculator to jump to that bio.

Author

ToolWools Hardware Desk

PC performance analysis · Lead author

The Hardware Desk builds and benchmarks reference rigs for every Rockstar and open-world title. The desk has covered GTA V, RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 performance since launch and maintains a live database of 60+ GPUs and 30+ CPUs re-tested each driver cycle. All modelling and tier scores for our calculators are authored here.

  • 12+ years covering PC gaming hardware
  • Maintains ToolWools' GTA 6 tier and VRAM databases
  • Publishes raw benchmark and allocation logs on every model update
Reviewer

Independent GTA benchmark reviewers

Technical reviewer · RAGE-engine scaling

External community reviewers with published GTA V, RDR2, and Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark captures cross-check tier deltas, VRAM overheads, and workload multipliers before each release. Reviewers have no financial relationship with ToolWools and are credited when a change is accepted.

  • Cross-checks CPU/GPU scaling against public GTA V, RDR2 and CP2077 datasets
  • Signs off on tier and overhead changes before they ship
Editor

ToolWools Editorial

Editor · Corrections & accuracy

Editorial verifies every claim, sources every external number, and owns corrections. If a verdict, tier score, or VRAM number on any tool is wrong, mail corrections@toolwools.com and we'll re-run the case on the reference rig, publish the fix in the changelog, and credit the reporter.

  • Enforces the public sourcing checklist on every publish
  • Owns dated corrections in the Changelog

Author, reviewer, editor: who can change what

Three roles with deliberately separated powers, so no single person can move a published number on their own.

Editorial roles and their permissions
RoleCanCannot
Author — Hardware DeskBuilds the models, captures benchmarks, proposes every value and every band on the site.Cannot ship a model change without a reviewer sign-off, and cannot publish a number without a source.
Reviewer — independent benchmarkersCross-checks proposed deltas against public datasets and blocks anything that fails reproduction.Cannot author values, and holds no financial relationship with this site.
Editor — EditorialOwns corrections, enforces the sourcing checklist, and dates every change in the tool's changelog.Cannot overrule a reviewer's technical block or quietly edit a published number.

The rules each role enforces — sourcing, cross-checks, retest cadence — are published in full under how we verify every claim.

Corrections policy

Every model change is dated in the tool's Changelog. If you spot a number that doesn't match your rig, mail corrections@toolwools.com with your setup and the exact reading. We re-run on the reference rig, publish the fix, and credit the reporter.

About this site, answered

Ownership, independence, data handling and corrections in short form.

  • Who runs this site?

A small independent editorial team: a hardware desk that builds and benchmarks the models, a panel of external benchmark reviewers who cross-check them, and an editor who owns sourcing and corrections. All three are described by name and remit on this page, and each tool's byline links back here.

  • Are these the official GTA 6 system requirements?

No. Rockstar Games has not published PC system requirements for GTA 6. Every tier, score and frame-rate band on this site is an estimate derived from the announced console targets and from measured behaviour in comparable RAGE-engine titles. Estimates are labelled as estimates on every page that shows one.

  • How do I report a number that looks wrong?

Use the corrections address on this page and include the tool, your exact inputs, the value we gave, the value you measured, and how you measured it. We reproduce it on the reference rig first — reproduction is the gate — then ship a dated fix in the tool's changelog and credit you unless you ask us not to.

  • Do you accept sponsored placement or free hardware?

No. No vendor pays for a tier, a verdict, or a mention, and we do not accept loaned or gifted parts in exchange for coverage. Every card and CPU goes through the same published formula, and the formula itself is on the methodology page so any placement can be checked independently.

  • Do you store my hardware details?

No. Calculations run in your browser and your inputs never reach a server. Share links encode inputs in the URL, and any saved results live in your own browser storage. There are no accounts on this site.

The verification workflow — sources, cross-checks, driver retest cadence — lives on the methodology page.
