GTA 6 Edition Picker
Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate or the boxed Collector's run — scored on what each tier actually adds for the way you play, and whether the uplift over Standard earns it.
Every GTA 6 edition contains the complete campaign and the complete online mode. Nothing above Standard sells you story. What the higher tiers sell is a head start — currency, a vehicle, a property, cosmetics — plus, for the boxed run, physical goods. That means the only sane way to compare editions is to weight those bonuses against how you personally intend to play, then check the uplift you are paying for them.
The short answer
Every GTA 6 edition includes the full story campaign and the full online mode — the game releases and no tier sells extra story. On PlayStation 5, for a online from day one buyer with a 60% ceiling over Standard, the best value is Deluxe Edition. It adds about 21.9 points of weighted usefulness over Standard for a 25% uplift — roughly 8.8 points per 10% you spend — which is the best return of any tier available on PlayStation 5 within your 60% ceiling.

What Rockstar has not confirmed yet
Whether a collector's edition exists at all
Rockstar has not announced a boxed GTA 6 collector's edition. GTA V and RDR2 both had one, and both were console-only limited runs that sold out pre-launch. Everything on this page about that tier is precedent.
The exact currency amounts
Tier currency grants have not been itemised for GTA 6. We score them by role — day-one head start — not by figure, and we do not quote amounts we cannot cite.
Whether Ultimate unlocks early
Early access for top tiers is a publisher pattern, not a GTA 6 commitment. If early access is your only reason to buy Ultimate, wait for Rockstar to confirm it.
Whether tier-exclusive cosmetics stay exclusive
Historically some tier items later appeared in-game. Treat exclusivity as likely-but-not-permanent, which is why cosmetics are weighted below currency and property here.
Every GTA 6 edition bonus, and which tier grants it
One row per bonus. Confidence is labelled so precedent never reads as fact.
| Bonus | Category | Standard | Deluxe | Ultimate | Collector's | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full story campaignEvery edition contains the complete single-player campaign. No edition gates story missions, characters or endings — this is the single most important thing to know before paying more. | Story-mode extras | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Confirmed by Rockstar |
| Full online accessThe online mode is included in the base game on every platform. Higher tiers accelerate your start; they do not unlock content that Standard players cannot reach by playing. | Story-mode extras | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Confirmed by Rockstar |
| Online cash injectionA one-off in-game currency grant to the online character. Real on day one, irrelevant within weeks for anyone who plays regularly — and worth nothing at all in story mode. | In-game currency | — | Yes | Yes | Yes | Reported / listed, not fully detailed |
| Larger currency grantThe top tier's currency grant is the main reason grinders buy up. Compare it against what the same uplift buys as a currency pack later, because the in-game economy is where it is spent. | In-game currency | — | — | Yes | — | Reported / listed, not fully detailed |
| Starter vehicle packA car or two granted to the online garage at first login. GTA V and RDR2 both did this. Genuinely useful for the first ten hours of online play, cosmetic thereafter. | Vehicles & property | — | Yes | Yes | Yes | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
| Property or business head startTop tiers have historically included a property or business that would otherwise take several sessions to afford. This is the bonus with the longest useful life for online players. | Vehicles & property | — | — | Yes | — | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
| Outfit and livery packClothing, tattoos and vehicle liveries exclusive to the paid tiers. No gameplay effect. Value here is entirely a matter of whether you care how your character looks. | Cosmetics & customisation | — | Yes | Yes | Yes | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
| Tier-exclusive cosmetic setItems that are not sold in-game afterwards. The only bonus category that stays genuinely unobtainable later, which is why collectors weight it highly. | Cosmetics & customisation | — | — | Yes | Yes | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
| Early access windowSome Rockstar-published top tiers have unlocked ahead of the standard release. Rockstar has not said whether GTA 6 does this; treat it as possible, not promised. | Early access & head start | — | — | Yes | — | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
| Bonus reward weeksA temporary boost to online earnings or rewards for the first weeks. Time-limited by design, so it only pays off if you play heavily at launch. | Early access & head start | — | Yes | Yes | — | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
| Printed Leonida mapBoth GTA V and RDR2 shipped a printed map with their boxed editions. If you want one, the collector's box is historically the only way to get it new. | Physical collectables | — | — | — | Yes | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
| Artbook, steelbook and trinketsThe bulk of a collector's box by value is physical: art print, steelbook, and one or two display pieces. This is the only tier whose value survives after you stop playing. | Physical collectables | — | — | — | Yes | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
| Sealed-box resale valueLimited Rockstar boxed runs have historically held or exceeded their original value on the secondary market. That is a reason collectors buy, not a guarantee of return. | Physical collectables | — | — | — | Yes | Precedent from GTA V and RDR2 editions |
How the GTA 6 edition tiers are built
What each tier is for, how it is sold, and how firmly it is established.
Standard Edition
Baseline price · digital and disc
The whole game: full story campaign and full access to the online mode. Every higher tier is bonuses layered on top of this, never extra story.

Collector's Edition
+140% over Standard · limited physical run
A boxed run with physical goods — map, artbook, steelbook, trinkets — around a copy of the game. Rockstar has not confirmed one for GTA 6; GTA V and RDR2 both had one, and both sold out before launch.

Machine-readable edition data
The same bonus matrix and scoring, as JSON.
Every edition, bonus, weight and confidence label on this page is available at /api/public/edition-comparison.json. Add a scenario — for example ?platform=pc&profile=online-grinder&uplift=60&p=cash,vehicles — and the response returns the ranked editions, the weighting used and the open questions. Dataset and ItemList structured data expose the matrix without running JavaScript.
If you quote these figures, state that no edition gates story content, that uplift is a percentage over Standard rather than a price, and that collector's-edition details are precedent from GTA V and RDR2 rather than confirmed GTA 6 contents.

Calibration notes
- No edition price, currency figure or retailer listing is read or displayed here. Uplift is a percentage over Standard drawn from how Rockstar has tiered previous releases.
- Bonus contents that Rockstar has not itemised are scored by role — head start, cosmetic, physical — rather than by an invented quantity.
- The collector's tier is included because readers search for it, and is labelled precedent throughout because Rockstar has not confirmed one exists for GTA 6.
- Currency conversion, tax treatment and regional price gaps are answered by /tools/price-by-country. Cancellation terms, preload timing and where to order are answered by /tools/pre-order-tracker. This page never duplicates either.
Changelog
- 1.0 · — First release: four editions scored across three platforms and five player profiles, with confidence-discounted bonus weighting, an uplift ceiling and upgrade math.
How each edition bonus is scored and weighted
Each bonus carries an intrinsic usefulness out of ten and a confidence factor — confirmed bonuses count fully, reported ones at 0.8, and precedent-based ones at 0.55. Your player profile supplies a weight per category, and any category you explicitly prioritise gains a further 0.7. An edition's utility is the sum of its weighted, confidence-discounted bonuses. The score combines two things: how much usefulness the tier adds over Standard per point of uplift, and whether it actually contains the bonus categories you prioritised — then it penalises anything above the ceiling you set. Standard is scored on the fact that it is complete, not on bonuses it does not have.
utility = Σ (bonusValue × categoryWeight × confidenceFactor) utilityDelta = utility(edition) − utility(standard) efficiency = clamp(utilityDelta ÷ (upliftPercent ÷ 12), 0, 1.3) coverage = prioritised categories present in tier ÷ prioritised categories chosen score = clamp(0.30 + efficiency × 0.36 + coverage × 0.22, 0, 1) × (1 − budgetPenalty) × 100
How to compare GTA 6 editions without overpaying
Five steps from platform to a defensible answer.
- 01
Pick your platform, because one tier is console-only
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC all get Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate. Boxed collector's runs have historically been console-only, so on PC the physical tier drops out of the comparison entirely rather than being scored and then dismissed.
- 02
Say how you will play, not how much you want to spend
A story-only player and a launch-week online grinder get opposite answers from the same table. The profile you choose sets the weights: currency and property matter enormously to one and nothing at all to the other.
- 03
Set the uplift you would actually tolerate
Instead of a price, you set a ceiling as a percentage over Standard. A 25% ceiling keeps Deluxe in play and rules out the boxed run. Tiers above your ceiling are still shown, flagged, so you can see exactly what you are declining.
- 04
Weight the categories you care about
Currency, vehicles and property, cosmetics, early access, physical goods. Selecting a category raises its weight on top of your profile, which is how a story-only buyer who still wants the printed map gets a sensible answer.
- 05
Read the added-value column, then the unknowns
Each tier reports the weighted usefulness it adds over Standard and how much of that you get per 10% of uplift. The unknowns block below the table lists everything Rockstar has not confirmed, so a high score never reads as a promise.
Which GTA 6 edition suits which kind of player
Five buyer situations, each with a preset link.
You only want the campaign
Select story mode only. Every bonus above Standard is online-facing, so the tool will tell you to buy Standard and stop — the outcome most edition comparisons bury under an affiliate-friendly recommendation.
Load presetYou are grinding online in launch week
Select online from day one and prioritise currency. The currency grant and the property head start are worth real hours to you, and the tool shows how much usefulness each 10% of uplift returns.
Load presetYou want the printed map and the steelbook
Select collector and prioritise physical goods. You will get an honest answer: the boxed run is the only source, Rockstar has not confirmed one exists, and previous runs sold out before launch.
Load presetYou are buying a gift and do not know their habits
Leave the profile on not sure yet. The neutral weighting leans on what is certain — the base game is complete — and flags the bonuses that expire so nobody pays for a launch-week boost that is gone by the time the gift is opened.
Load presetYou already pre-ordered Standard and are wondering about upgrading
Check the upgrade math block. Digital tier upgrades are normally sold at the price difference, so the total is usually identical — except for launch-window perks, which cannot be claimed retroactively.

GTA 6 edition questions, answered plainly
Deluxe versus Ultimate, collector's runs, upgrades and pre-order bonuses.
Which GTA 6 edition should I buy?
If you play the campaign and little else, Standard — it contains the whole story and the whole online mode, and every higher tier only adds online head-start items. If you are going straight into online at launch, the mid or top tier can pay for itself in saved grinding, and the picker above quantifies that against the uplift you said you would tolerate. If you want the printed map and physical goods, only a boxed collector's run has them, and Rockstar has not confirmed one for GTA 6.
Does any GTA 6 edition include extra story content?
No. This is the single most important fact on the page: the campaign is identical across every edition. Bonuses are online currency, vehicles, property, cosmetics and — for boxed runs — physical items. Nobody is locked out of story missions, characters or endings by buying Standard.
What do you get with the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?
Based on how Rockstar has structured top tiers before, expect everything in the mid tier plus a larger in-game currency grant, an additional property or vehicle unlock, tier-exclusive cosmetics and — if offered — the earliest access window. Rockstar has not itemised these for GTA 6, so this page scores them by role rather than quoting amounts it cannot cite.
Is the GTA 6 Deluxe Edition worth it?
It depends entirely on whether you will spend time in online. The mid-tier bonuses are a day-one shortcut: valuable in your first ten hours online, irrelevant after a few weeks of normal play, and worth nothing in story mode. Set your profile above and the tool reports the weighted usefulness it adds against its roughly 25% uplift.
Will there be a GTA 6 Collector's Edition?
Unconfirmed. Both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 shipped boxed collector's editions with a printed map, artbook, steelbook and display pieces, and both were limited console-only runs that sold out before launch. This page scores that tier on precedent and labels it as such — do not plan a budget around it until Rockstar announces it.
Can I upgrade from Standard to a higher edition later?
Digital tier upgrades are normally sold in-store at the price difference on both consoles and PC, so buying Standard now and stepping up later usually costs the same in total. The exception is anything time-limited — launch bonus weeks and any early-access window — which cannot be claimed after the fact.
Do pre-order bonuses differ from edition bonuses?
Yes, and they get conflated constantly. Pre-order bonuses depend on when and where you order and are usually small; edition bonuses depend on which tier you buy and travel with the licence. This page scores edition bonuses only — the where-to-order question, including cancellation terms and preload timing, is handled by the pre-order decision desk.
Are the exclusive cosmetics really exclusive?
Treat exclusivity as likely but not permanent. Some tier-exclusive items in previous Rockstar titles later became obtainable in-game, which is why cosmetics carry a lower weight here than currency or property unless you explicitly prioritise them.
Why does this page not show prices?
Because a single price is wrong for almost everyone reading it. Editions cost different amounts in every market, with different tax treatment, and that comparison is done properly on the price-by-country tool. Here the uplift is a percentage over Standard, which holds true regardless of your currency.
Is buying a higher edition better value than buying in-game currency later?
For a grinder that is the real comparison, and it cannot be settled honestly before launch: nobody knows GTA 6's in-game prices or currency-pack rates yet. If currency is your only reason to upgrade, buy Standard, play a week, then decide with real numbers.
Edition terminology used on this page
Vocabulary that shows up across the tool and the FAQs.
- Uplift
- The extra you pay for an edition, expressed as a percentage over the Standard edition in the same market. Currency-neutral, so it stays accurate everywhere.
- Weighted usefulness
- A bonus's intrinsic value multiplied by how much your player profile cares about that category and discounted by how firmly the bonus is established.
- Confidence label
- Confirmed means Rockstar has stated it. Reported means it appears in listings without full detail. Precedent means it is drawn from GTA V and RDR2 editions and may not apply to GTA 6.
- Head start
- Any bonus that only saves you time you would otherwise spend earning the same thing in-game — currency, starter vehicles, an early property.
- Tier upgrade
- An in-store purchase that converts an owned edition to a higher one at the price difference, rather than rebuying the game.
