GTA 6 Map — Interactive Leonida & Vice City Explorer

Every named region of Leonida and every Vice City district on one pannable schematic, tagged by how strongly it's confirmed — plus a size comparison against GTA V and an honest collectibles forecast.

Most GTA 6 map pages present guesswork as fact. This one separates the two. Every region on the canvas carries an evidence level — confirmed in official Rockstar material, strongly implied by trailer footage, or inferred by the mapping community — and you can filter the map down to only what's actually been shown. The size comparator answers 'how big is the GTA 6 map' the honest way: a range with its reasoning attached, because Rockstar has published no figure.

Snapshot

Rockstar has not published a size for the GTA 6 map. Based on the named regions and the state-scale setting, a reasonable estimate is 90–170 km² of playable land — 1.2× to 2.27× GTA V.

Where is GTA 6 set?

GTA 6 is set in Leonida, Rockstar's fictional version of Florida, with Vice City — a stand-in for Miami — on the south-east coast. It is the first mainline return to Vice City since 2002, and the first GTA to cover an entire state rather than a single city and its hinterland.

    Leonida — fictional Florida

  • Anchor city

    Vice City — fictional Miami

Leonida compresses the real state: the Keys, the Everglades, central farm country, the panhandle and the northern forests all appear, but at a fraction of their real distance apart. Open the map explorer to see how the pieces sit relative to each other.

GTA 6 collectibles and map activities

No collectible locations exist yet — nobody has played the game. This is a forecast built from series precedent and what official footage actually shows, with the evidence attached.

Expected collectibles and repeatable activities. Count bands total roughly 145265 individual pickups across the entries that have a countable format.
TypeSeries precedentGTA 6 signalExpected countEvidence
Stunt jumpscollectibleGTA V shipped 50 unique stunt jumps; San Andreas shipped 70. Every 3D-era GTA has included them.No stunt-jump prompt has been shown. Trailer footage includes ramped causeway approaches and elevated roadworks that fit the pattern.50–70Community-inferred
Hidden packages / cachescollectibleVice City (2002) had 100 hidden packages; GTA Online reused the format as buried caches across land and seabed. Not shown. A keys-and-wetland map with a diving layer is the strongest possible fit for the format, which is why it is listed — as an expectation only.50–100Community-inferred
Wildlife sightingsactivityRDR2 shipped 178 animal species with a compendium; GTA V limited wildlife to a small set outside the city.Alligators, wading birds and marine life appear in official wetland and water footage, which is a substantially richer showing than GTA V had at reveal. Not countableStrongly implied
Dive sites and wrecksactivityGTA V modelled a full ocean floor with wrecks, submarine parts and 30 nuclear waste canisters.Underwater and open-water footage appears in official trailers. The reef tract is the single most obvious use of a Florida setting.20–40Strongly implied
Street racesactivityGTA V shipped street, sea and off-road race series unlocked through the world rather than a menu. Not confirmed as a standalone activity. Trailer footage shows a car-culture scene — modified vehicles, night meets — consistent with race content.15–30Community-inferred
Purchasable propertiespropertyVice City (2002) built its whole progression loop on property purchase; GTA V reduced it to a handful of businesses. Not confirmed. Rockstar's Vice City return and the two-protagonist structure make an ownership loop plausible, but no property UI has been shown.10–25Community-inferred
Landmark viewpointsactivityRDR2 used points of interest and vistas; GTA V used the tourist-photo mechanic sparingly.Official footage leans heavily on scenic framing — beach strip, skyline, wetland sunsets — which usually accompanies some form of photo or discovery system. Not countableStrongly implied
In-world social feed momentsactivityNew to the series. GTA V had Lifeinvader as set dressing rather than a systemic feature.Trailer 1 is framed as vertical-video clips from an in-world feed, and Rockstar's own reveal materials lean on that device — the clearest new-system signal in any official material. Not countableStrongly implied

Where a forecast lands in a specific part of the state, the likely regions are: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Offshore reef & open water.

Is the leaked GTA 6 map real?

Short answer: not usefully. The 2022 breach was genuine development footage, but it showed an unfinished build years from release. Almost every "leaked GTA 6 map" image circulating since is a fan reconstruction, an upscale, or a fabrication built on top of it.

Development geometry is not shipping geometry. Regions get resized, merged and cut late in production — GTA V's own pre-release maps differ visibly from what shipped. Treating a datamined outline as the final map is how most fan wikis end up publishing coastlines that never existed.

This page reproduces no leaked or datamined imagery. The canvas is original vector artwork, and every region and district resolves to a record with a named source. Where the evidence stops, the entry is labelled Community-inferred rather than quietly presented as fact — set the evidence filter to Confirmed to strip the map back to official material only.

How to explore the Leonida and Vice City map

Six controls, and what each one changes on the canvas.

  1. 01

    Filter by evidence level

Switch between Confirmed, Strongly implied and Community-inferred. Set it to Confirmed to see only what Rockstar has actually named or shown — usually a much smaller map than the internet suggests.

  2. 02

    Toggle layers

Cities and towns, coast and keys, wilderness, landmarks. Layers stack, so you can isolate the urban footprint or the wetland interior on its own.

  3. 03

    Open a region

Select any region to see its real-world Florida inspiration, a description of what it contains, the exact evidence behind the entry, and what that evidence level means.

  4. 04

    Compare the size

Pick a reference game and read the ratio band — for example 1.2× to 2.3× GTA V. The scale diagram draws each map to relative width so the difference is visible, not just numeric.

  5. 05

Switch to the Vice City districts view

The districts tab swaps the state-level canvas for 12 named neighbourhoods, each with its Miami counterpart and its own evidence tag, so city questions get city-level answers.

  6. 06

Share the exact view you're looking at

Layer, evidence filter and selected region all live in the URL. Copy the address bar and whoever opens it lands on the same map state you did.

  • How big is the GTA 6 map?

No official figure exists. The working estimate is 90–170 km² of playable land, which puts it at roughly 1.2× to 2.3× GTA V. The band is wide on purpose — anyone quoting a single precise number is guessing.

Map, region and leak terminology

Vocabulary that shows up across the tool and the FAQs.

Leonida
The fictional US state GTA 6 is set in, modelled on Florida. Contains Vice City plus five other named regions.
Evidence level
How strongly a region is supported: Confirmed (official Rockstar material), Strongly implied (shown but not named, or named without a location), Community-inferred (reconstructed by the mapping community).
Playable land
Land area a player can traverse on foot or by vehicle, excluding open water. The measurement convention used for every figure in the comparator.
District
A named neighbourhood inside Vice City, as distinct from a region, which is a state-level area of Leonida.
Estimate band
A low–high range used instead of a single number when no authoritative figure exists. The GTA 6 band is 90–170 km².

GTA 6 map, setting and leak questions

Evidence-graded answers — confirmed, implied or inferred.

  • How big is the GTA 6 map?

Rockstar has not published a landmass figure, so any exact number you see is an estimate. Based on the six named regions, the state-scale setting and Rockstar's pattern of roughly doubling explorable space each generation, a defensible band is 90–170 km² of playable land — around 1.2× to 2.3× the size of GTA V. Expect the perceived size to be larger than the raw number suggests, since density and interior count matter more than area.

  • Is the GTA 6 map bigger than GTA 5?

Almost certainly yes. GTA V's playable land measures about 75 km², and GTA 6 spans an entire fictional state containing a major city, a keys chain, a wetland interior, farmland, a panhandle town and a national park. Even the low end of the estimate band exceeds GTA V. What is not yet knowable is by how much.

  • Where is GTA 6 located?

In the state of Leonida, Rockstar's fictional version of Florida. The anchor city is Vice City on the south-east coast, standing in for Miami. Other named areas are the Leonida Keys (Florida Keys), Grassrivers (Everglades), Ambrosia (inland farm country), Port Gellhorn (the panhandle) and Mount Kalaga National Park (north Florida forest).

  • Is there an official GTA 6 map?

No. Rockstar has not released a map image or an in-game map screenshot. Everything circulating online is either a community reconstruction from trailer footage or leaked material. This page uses a hand-built schematic derived from official footage and named regions, and labels every entry with how strongly it is supported.

  • What is the GTA 6 map based on?

Florida. Vice City maps to Miami, the Leonida Keys to the Florida Keys, Grassrivers to the Everglades, Mount Kalaga to the Ocala forest region, and Port Gellhorn to the panhandle around Panama City. Leonida is a compressed, stylised version of the state rather than a one-to-one recreation.

  • Has the GTA 6 map been confirmed?

The regions have been named in official Rockstar material; the map's shape, scale and boundaries have not. That is exactly the distinction the evidence filter on this page exists for — switch it to Confirmed to see only officially sourced entries.

  • Does this page use leaked map images?

No. The canvas is an original vector schematic built from region records with cited sources. Leaked or datamined imagery is deliberately excluded — it is legally risky and, in practice, frequently wrong. Nothing on this page is reproduced from leaked assets.

  • Will GTA 6 have an underwater map area?

Likely, though it is only implied rather than confirmed. Official trailers include water and shoreline footage, and GTA V shipped with a fully modelled ocean floor. Offshore reef and open water is tagged 'strongly implied' on this map rather than confirmed.

  • How does the GTA 6 map compare to Red Dead Redemption 2?

RDR2's playable land also measures roughly 75 km², so the comparison is close to the GTA V one — the GTA 6 estimate band lands at about 1.2× to 2.3× RDR2. The meaningful difference is density: Leonida's area is dominated by a dense coastal city, whereas RDR2's is mostly open wilderness.

  • What are the districts of Vice City in GTA 6?

Official material confirms three: Ocean Drive, the wider Vice Beach island and Downtown. Footage strongly implies the port, the causeway islands, a Cuban commercial quarter, the northern residential blocks, the marina and the wetland edge, none of which Rockstar has named. The industrial south, airport and western suburbs are community reconstructions based on real Miami geography — the district view labels each one so you can tell them apart.

  • Is the leaked GTA 6 map real?

The 2022 leak was genuine stolen development footage, but it showed an unfinished build years from release, and most 'leaked map' images circulating since are fan reconstructions or outright fabrications layered on top of it. Development-build geometry is not shipping geometry: regions get resized, cut and added. This page reproduces no leaked or datamined imagery — every entry is a hand-built schematic traced to an official source.

  • What collectibles will be in the GTA 6 map?

None have been confirmed. Based on series precedent, expect stunt jumps (50–70 in recent GTAs), hidden packages or caches (50–100), dive sites and wrecks (20–40) and street races (15–30). Wildlife, landmark viewpoints and the in-world social feed are the activities with the strongest signal in official footage. Anyone publishing collectible coordinates today is inventing them.

  • What does the GTA 6 map look like?

A Florida-shaped state: a dense coastal city in the south-east, a keys chain trailing south-west, a huge wetland interior, farm country inland, a panhandle town in the north-west and forested high ground in the north. Vice City itself splits into a mainland grid and a barrier island joined by causeways — the same basic layout as real Miami.

  • How often is this map updated?

Whenever official material adds or changes a region. New trailers, official site updates and press assets can promote an entry from implied to confirmed, or add a region outright. Changes are logged in the changelog at the bottom of this page.

Where every region, district and coordinate comes from

Two independent pieces. The map is a hand-built vector schematic: each region is a record with coordinates, a real-world inspiration, a confidence level and a cited source, so nothing renders without an evidence trail. The size comparator divides midpoints for the headline ratio and divides the band endpoints for the range, which is why an estimated comparison always shows two numbers rather than one.

ratio      = area(target) ÷ area(base)          // midpoints
ratioRange = [ lowTarget ÷ highBase , highTarget ÷ lowBase ]

GTA 6 band = 90–170 km² playable land (estimate)
GTA V = 75 km² (community measurement)
